Color Blocks Finished

The sewing together was more fun than I anticipated. Learned this stitch pattern from an old quilt that my husband's grandmother made. The black shows nicely on the bright background.

I decided to leave the top of the blanket the way it is, with an uneven edge. I wouldn't know what to do with the left over pieces if I don't put them in this blanket. Hate to throw them away.

My occasional helpers. Henry learned to sew in after-school care. He has made stockings every year, and they are putting together a very large quilt with blocks made by all the kids this year.

Bucky does not sew.

  3. Cool! Stained glass. I'll bet your son is really proud of having helped. And I got quite the guffaw out of that last line!

  5. Very nice! I would never have thought to group the colors that way, with the greens on one side and the pinks on the other. It really works.

  8. Vivian,
that is most amazing. I love what you did!!! Having a helper like that sure doesn't hurt either, does it. :)
If don't mind, could you please post a picture of how you sewed it together? I would love to learn that stitch. The sewing together part is often what keeps me from undertaking such projects.
    Thanks so much.
