New Project: Mock Cables 真淑女

Project Mock Cables 真淑女
Pattern
High-Low Peplum Pullover by Sandy Cushman,  Interweave Knits, Spring 2001
Yarn
Karabella Majestic
Yardage:
1240 yards in stash
Needles: Size 7
Cast on: January 26, 2012

Notes:  The mock cables are created by well placed decreases and matching yarn overs. The stitch pattern is very simple. I'm skipping the bobbles in the pattern, will find something interesting to fill the spots. The Chinese name means "real (gentle) lady" -- mock cable, real lady, another word play.

In unrelated news, my son, the euphonium player in last week's post, became a fresh teenager on Wednesday. For those been there done that, I will probably need all the warning, suggestions, hand-holding I can get.

Happy Fiber Arts Friday! Join the party on Andrea's blog and leave me a comment!

I am currently working on a shawl that has mock cables and I didn't even realize I was knitting them until I got about 10 inches in. tehehe, they are actually fun. Lovin' your project.

Just keep the lines of communication open. That's the best advice I can give. But, I have two daughters, 15 and 18, so I can't say how it works with boys. LOL! Love the stitch pattern.

Good luck with the teenager...I have absolutely crazy love for that pink cabley thing...your skills are amazing. Scratch that little Rascal for me.

I ADORE teenagers! They are just like two year olds, except that they can now wipe themselves and you can't really put them in their rooms to 'think things over' anymore. :) The best piece of advice I can give you is to eat at least one meal together each day as a family. Even if they have a sullen day, the odds are they will eventually say 'something', and you can keep an eye out for signs of distress or need....plus, it's FUN! Good luck and enjoy these years! He will be gone before you know it!XXO-

Hee hee... teenagers are my worst fear. I still have a few more years. The knitting, on the other hand is stunning.
