Starfish Shawl, Moving Update

A lot of baseball watching means a lot of knitting time. My Starfish Shawl is growing at a good clip and is finally starting to look like a shawl. I'm not a sports fan myself, but living with two guys, and the small one is tracking every sport with statistics, it's hard not to care about the games. Giants keeps winning, my shawl keeps growing.

Last Sunday I brought the guys to Carmel to give my mom a thorough "keep or toss". My husband made five trips to the Goodwill truck down the hill, and we still ended up with a bunch of boxes coming home with us. At least we put a nice dent in her stuff collection. Next, sell or give away the bigger furniture.

Happy Fiber Arts Friday! Join the party on Andrea's blog and leave me a comment!

Wowza! That shawl is going to be stunning and it looks amazing to touch. I bet it's heaven to knit...except for the billion stitches in each row ;-)

The little vest looks so sweet. I'll bet you're glad that keep or toss project is done. I know it has to be difficult for your Mom to decide what she can part with. Your Starfish is looking really good so far. I'll have to go check out that pattern to see what it will look like when you finish. Booo, Giants!!! hehehe

Wow! You are really making progress on that shawl. We have been having fun babysitting a little pug and watching the Giants, of course.

That shawl is coming along very nicely - baseball is great background for knitting or crochet. And I'm so glad you enlisted help in the keep or toss project. Did you mom enjoy the visit?

Btw, how are the pups doing? We demand pics. :)

Denise, I have been posting pictures of the pups on Facebook, will need to post some here too, promise!

My mom wasn't thrilled that we sent a lot of stuff to Goodwill, but we were a big help so she kind of accepted it. I think the deeper we dig the harder it's going to get, cause those are things she cares more about. We will see.

That shawl is gorgeous! I agree, baseball is great knitting background... sadly we don't get FOX. ;-)

I'm sure you (and your mom) feel better having made a big dent in the keep or toss.

Beautiful shawl! The detail is just, astounding, I'll bet that it is very soft too. You will be finishing it up very soon (if you can tear yourself away from playing with those adorable puppies).

Vivian--It's so good to get rid of excess possessions, isn't it? Your mom is lucky to have you!! XXO-

Your shawl is beautiful, that's a great picture.
When I helped my mum downsize, I ended up with a garage full of stuff she didn't want but couldn't quite part with. Now I pay for storage and wonder how I will ever sort through it all. Don't take on too much stuff!

The shawl looks so big now! How much farther?

Star Fish is beautiful! :-)

Beth, the shawl is getting much smaller to the center (decrease 5 stitches every row), and the lace pattern is done so it's just stockinette all the way. I switched to 24in needles for the picture, and pretty soon will need double points.
