Rippit, Rippit, Rippit
goes the Pagode ... I switched the ivory with wheat, so there is a nice contrast with blue and ivory, but the yellow and wheat pretty much blend with each other.
Last night an hour was put in to rip out almost a quarter of a sweater knitted on size 3 needles, and hundreds of stitches were picked up. I'm going to get my money's worth out of this kit.

Oh my, I've knit a few Hanne's myself, and I feel your pain!
I would have wanted to cry ripping out all those stitches.

It was from someone on Knitswap list (another Yahoo group) last year. You can find it on eBay as well.
Well, I was thinking about knitting one myself -- I think the kits are a pretty good deal on eBay. What do you think? Am I being overambitious? Would it be better if I tried a different style? I am way too chicken to try to pick up that many stitches -- I think I'd have to start over from the beginning.
And I have to second Lynn. Your knitting really is gorgeous.
Sarah, I'm pretty sure you can handle this. It's all garter stitch with decreases in each corner. Mermaid is very popular on the Hanne Falkenberg Knitalong (linked under my Knitting Blogs). Someone even created an Excel spreadsheet for the shapings, so I'm sure you can get help there if needed.
I am not quite sure I understand why you needed to rip it out...was it because of the colors?

The wheat color is what's on the sides of the jacket and also goes in the stripes with the blue. The white (ivory) is in the stripes with yellow. I switched the wheat and ivory and now the wheat and yellow blend together. It's hard to show it in the picture, but I just know that if I keep it the way it is it's going to bug me whenver I look at it. To make it worse, I'll have to make the other half the same way to match.
