Notes: My main project is supposed to be Wingspan. (I am working on it even tho I haven't posted a picture here. I forgot to take a progress picture today, just what happens when I have two projects going at the same time.) But Wingspan is all garter stitch, so of course I have to cast on another project to keep me engaged so I don't doze off while knitting (have done that before and didn't drop a stitch). The yarn has been in my stash for a few years. Bucky was in the picture for sizing. No I didn't put him there, he'd have wiggled his way out if I made him stay. More likely I was trying to shove him out of the way so he decided to lie down and take a nap. I don't usually like "Knitter's Design Team" patterns, but I was looking for something very specific -- top down garment with cables in DK to worsted weight yarn, but gives me the variation to make it shorter or longer depend on the among of yarn I have. This fits what I was looking for.

Using from stash makes sens, doesn't it? Firstly, you don't have to spend money, secondly, your stash isn't in danger to be eaten by moths, you don't have to go into town to get what you want, it's already in the house. So you can start immediately.
Your poncho looks great. I'm still surprised that they are back. My mother had a poncho in the seventies, that I borrowed all the time.
ooooh, I am liking this pattern. Really what is the difference between a caplet and poncho? Is it the length? I knit caplets but i also see ponchos...is it the length? Loving the cables.
Aw Bucky. I'd recognize him anywhere...
I think you're just keeping that Wingspan a secret :) I love that big ball of yarn, such a great color. Looks like you're already making great progress on the poncho. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
I love the color of the yarn. The fact that it is a mystery fiber makes all the more interesting. The pattern looks like a fun one to knit, and a great distraction from garter stitch boringness.
I love how chunky that looks. And the color is so rich! Beautiful.

Andrea, I don't really know how they tell the difference between caplet and poncho. Maybe caplet opens in the front? When I run searches on Ravelry I pick poncho, caplet, wrap, and sometimes shawl. The results are pretty mixed.
I know what you mean about garter stitch ... so dull! You're such a fast knitter, too!
Vivian--I love the green this time, and the pattern looks really complex and interesting. (I love the 'nooks and crannies'!!) XXO-
I'm liking this one too... as if I never like what you make... I always like what you make. :-)
I think of a caplet and being much shorter than a poncho. To me a caplet goes to the mid-bicept but a poncho goes to the wrist and waist or even longer.
