Nightsongs (Gail) got a nice soak the other day, and I pinned it to a yoga mat to block, since I can't find the foam blockers except for used kiddie mats (who knows what's been on them!). The stitches really opened up after blocking. Isn't it gorgeous? And if you still can't find the error, I think I'm getting away with it! This is one of my happiest projects from Ellen's Half Pint Yarns.

The sweater was ripped, yarn skeined and washed. I have:
- 9.75oz, 792.2 yards variegated Ellen's Half Pint Falkland merino
- 6oz, 487.5 yards lavender Ellen's Half Pint Falkland merino, custom dyed
- 50g, 146 yards Misti Alpaca Sport
We are having the first heat wave of the season. It's been in the 90s this week, the shawl and yarn both dried super fast. This picture was sunset on the lake I walk to regularly, looks like the sun was ready to explode behind the hills.

Wow, what transformation a good blocking makes (well it was pretty to begin with)! No I still can't see any errors... those yarns you reclaimed are gorgeous, what are you going to do with them?

Oh my goodness! Look at that shawl. It's Stunning! You are such a rock star. I love seeing the before of the sweater and the after skeins. Yikes! I would never have the patience.

Jocelyn, the sweater picture was from a few years ago when it was finished. Over the years' of wearing, it grew a few inches each direction, thanks to the garter stitches. Usually I'd just give it away, but I care about this yarn too much and I'd rather reuse it.
I don't know what I'm going to do with the yarn yet.
The shawl is really just breathtaking. No mistakes seen from my end. I love it. Ripping out the sweater and getting the yarn... well that's just cool. Looks like you've been busy. Have a great weekend!

The yarn is perfect for Nightsong. It all looks very peacockish. I can't tell if the solid reclaimed yarn is blue or purple! It's all pretty no matter.
Chrisknits, the two skeins on each side are lavender, and the single skein on top is purple.
It is strangely satisfying to see that sweater become perfect little skeins again, good for you recycling! I love the shawl, the variegation works seamlessly with the pattern.
I find no flaws in that shawl. :-)

It's most definitely satisfying to turn an old sweater into new yarn. Now I have something new in the stash that I can plan for and play with.
