How old is too old to be called a baby?
Bucky has to be with mom when she's around. If she gets up in the morning and wants a cup of tea before the day starts, he barks at the top of the stairs until someone brings him down. If she carries a big basket of laundry upstairs, he cries at the bottom of the stairs until she gets a free hand and come fetch the 25 lb pug belly.
The bathroom habit is the worst. When mom takes a shower, Bucky waits outside the bathroom door. If no one else is in the house, he cries at the door. To save on the ear plugs, mom brings Bucky's pillow into the bathroom and let him supervise her shower. Sometimes she has to chase him down or lure him in with a toy, that just makes him happier. Sometimes Bucky gets hot from all the steam, mom opens the window to give him some air, even though she rather likes the steam herself.
Bucky is twelve years old.

After checking with Wilbur & Charlotte, it seems Bucky will be a baby well into his 20's. :)
ps we have a kitty that believes he's supposed to supervise all showering activities. :)
He loves you and needs to be able to see you at all times. I have one just like that. They will always be our babies.
Wow. When I insisted on being that responsive to the cries of my infant children I was told I was over indulgent and that I would live to regret it...still waiting.
I'm surprised no one is slamming you for not letting him, "Cry it out", or suggesting you read a copy of "Pugwise".
Ah, the things we do for our pets. I am suddenly reminded of that line from the late great Erma Bombeck: "I wonder what the dog thinks when he sees me naked?"

Oh he loves being with his mommy!
Elise waits outside the bathroom door during showering times and will whine if she thinks we are taking to long.
We decided that it puzzles them to see us "sans fur".
