I have been going to South Bay Knitters group meetings since I picked up the needles again in 1998. This group of ladies have inspired me to do many things that I never imagined I'd do, in a good way. I'm very lucky to have them in my fiber life.
I converse with a lot of people in my day job, though email, LinkedIn updates, Skype, instant messages, Facebook, Twitter, not to mention lengthy phone calls and interviews. Some days I'm literarily talked out, so I have not been meeting with my friends as much as I'd like. Last night was our monthly meeting, it's so refreshing to talk to friends. You know, no one has to plead for a job, or give empty promises, or play some name dropping to show off the superiority. It's just a group of women, knitting, and chatting.

I know what you mean...it's nice to enjoy your craft and leave the "real world" talk for the office. Knitters rock!
I love all those projects - especially the fair isle sweater!
It sounds like a nice little group of knitters, the projects are wonderful!
Plus I find that knitting/fiber friends are the only ones who really understand and don't mind when I ramble on about yarn things.
Lots 'o sweater knitting going on in the South Bay! You must definitely feel right at home with all your wonderful knitted sweaters lately.
Such lovely eye candies ... thanks!
Ooh, gorgeous projects from everyone!!!

Agreed! I completely love my knit group. I feel blessed to have been invited to join them.
They're all fantastically talented fiber-y people as well as extremely interesting in the rest of their lives too.
That's a lot of inspiration in one group, you are very fortunate. Steven West is a knit design genius! Give that little Rascal some pets and a sniff from me and LittleDog and have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing your friends projects. I love Stephen West but I can't remember seeing that pattern....will have to check it out.
I feel the same way about my knitting group. Thanks for the show and tell.
Melissa, the shawl is Earth & Sky, available on Ravelry and Stephen West's website. I added it on the post as well.
Wow, you have done so much! It's so impressive!
I wish I could find a group like that around here.
