Mock Cables, front, back, sleeves all done, picked up stitches for the neckline. The pattern calls for a cute mock turtle neck, which I love, and the stitch patten goes up the center front and back. It's going to look so cute and sweet when it's done.
Over the years I've knitted sweaters with all kinds of necklines.
|
Crew neck, simple, classy, boring. |
|
Turtle neck, extra knitting to keep you warm! |
|
Deep V, sassy, stylish |
|
Sweetheart neckline, gotta have the body to carry it |
|
Mandarin collar, beautiful, elegant, practical. Love, love, love it! |
|
Polo style, too many little pieces, not worth the time. |
|
And then some of us don't have much of a neck to speak of. |
Do you have a favorite neckline? and why do you like it?

I've yet to knit a neckline yet. My first sweater is still in timeout. I will complete it this year...I vow too because I've found some cardi's I want to knit.
Bucky may not have much of a neck, but he certainly wears that sweater well!
I personally prefer a crew neck or shallow v-neck... so maybe that makes me boring. ;-)
I love the Mandarin neck but I have only knitted a simple roll-neck so far.
So many beautiful sweaters. You are such an accomplished knitter! I simply cannot wait to see you complete this latest, especially with the beautiful neckline!
Thanks for the parade of necklines. I like the crew neck just for it's simplicity and ease.
What beautiful patterns....my favorite the crew.
The Mandarin was my favorite although I like the yellow one a lot. They fit you so well.
I love the progress on your pretty sweater and all the beautiful knitting from the past!
Vivian--What an awesome photo array! It's so much fun seeing all of these projects at once.
(You look especially awesome in the deep V and sweetheart ones!)
What a fashion show! I love them all ... particularly the sweetheart neckline one. That one seems to, ahem, draw attention away from other parts of the body ...
I need to do more necklines to report fully on this. I like crew necks myself, thought your Mandarin is gorgeous, might have to try that!
