The reluctant brothers

Trinket, doing a proper down on the left, is a fox terrier and chihuahua mix. He has a white paw (two white toes), a skinny long tail and a needle nose. Trinket is 12 years old and came to us at nine weeks as our first born.

Bucky, the black pug on the right, has a severe case of selective hearing due to the largeness of his ears and the emptiness between those large sized ears. Bucky will be 12 years old in about two months. We met those googly eyes on the day he turned eight weeks old.

The blanket was knitted with rug yarn and slightly felted.

You have two hairy old men living with you.
If you do the dog year thing they are both 84 years old.
Wow.

I love your old boys. Old dogs really have their own charm.

LOL! I will be laughing at the "nothing in between the large ears" for a while too!
Great picture too!

Dang, Vivian, is that the feather and fan knitting you were thinking about frogging and ended up dyeing with Kool-Aid? Now ending it's days as a dog blanket? The indignity ....

Sarah, "the thing" is lace weight, much lighter than this rug. But I did knit the rug for them.

For those of you probably don't know what I'm talking about, "the thing" is an antimacassar and you can see it here:

It's on the back of Trinket's chair and lately he has been taking it off during the day, and presumably, lay on it. So yeah, it's a doggie blanket too.

They are so cute! They look like two old men sitting outside of a gas station playing checkers or something. So sweet -
