Puppy on Thursday

No, no new puppy in this house, but saw this on one of the dog lists and it reminds me the long lost puppy days.
How to Make a Puppy Pie
Take one puppy
Roll and play until lightly pampered
Add the following ingredients
- 1 cup patience
- 1 cup understanding
- 1 pinch correction
- 1 cup hard work
- 2 cups praise
- 1 1/2 cups fun
Blend well
Heat with warmth of your heart until raised or until puppy has doubled in size
Mix with owner until consistency is such that owner and puppy are one
Trinket and Bucky were both very bad puppies. Trinket had accidents, or just casually "went" on the carpet for months. I was able to convince myself that he just didn't have the bladder control, but somehow he always lost control right on the edge of the newspaper. If we charted the locations of his accidents, it would be something like this:

ROFLMBO!!! Charlotte had major issues for over 3 years now it's just occasionally but still annoying. However it doesn't stop me from loving her. Great recipe!!

Fortunately for me, my mastiffs have all been very easy to train. I got all 3 at 7 weeks, and they were all outside trained within 2 weeks. Believe me, when a 7 week puppy weighs 25 pounds, and gains 2 to 3 pounds a day, you can't haul him around too well!

LOVE that "recipe." Sissy was 99% housebroken early, but had VERY annoying "accidents" when we weren't engaging her as she desired. Gretchen seemed to housebreak herself and never has an accident unless a human is distracted.

The boys? Fred must have been a dream, because I don't recall problems. Mugsy? Well, when a woman with bed-ridden Mono tries to housebreak a very small puppy with a VERY thin coat during the harshest winter in ages...

You crack me up with the pie chart!!!

Our puppy (5 month old Ransom) is driving my husband nuts, but I keep reminding him that she is still just a baby. He thinks I spoil her way too much. (I don't!)

It takes Shepherds 2 years to reach full maturity, so, she is, like, what...a five year old kid right now! She may look grown up on the outside, but she is still puppy-dumb on the inside and a totally impulse driven--hyperactive nut, bless her furry little heart! Maybe if I pie-charted Ransom's problem behaviors and contrasted it with her relative AGE maybe it would help Grant put things into proper perspective!
